For over sixty years Farnham has been home to professional theatre which has formed part of the cultural heritage of Waverley Borough. The REDGRAVE THEATRE, opened in 1974 and built by public subscription, and renowned nationally for its excellence, is now under threat. The owners, Waverley Council with Crest Nicholson/Sainsbury, intend to demolish the theatre leaving Brightwell House alone in a Town Square.

English Heritage are currently considering a strengthened Listing for The Redgrave. This is being supported by the Farnham Society, Save London’s Theatres Campaign, The New Farnham Repertory Company and The Theatres Trust, among others. If retained, the theatre could form part of a new venue for Theatre, Cinema, Music and Conference space, etc..

This event is supported by The Redgrave Action Group (NFRC), Save London’s Theatres Campaign and East Street Action. Facilities kindly provided by Brightwells Bowling Club, Brightwells, Farnham.
