Comments by audiences at the 2003 season of plays

In 2003 the New Farnham Repertory Company presented a short season of plays in a marquee at Brightwell House. The two plays, David Copperfield and Henry IV part 1, were extremely well received by packed houses.

Audiences were asked to record their comments in visitors' books provided for the purpose. A selection of these is reproduced below.

The best evening I have ever spent in the theatre.

Marvellous. We don’t need Glitzy scenery…just actors.

Worth coming 200 miles for.

Brilliant performance. Deserving of better treatment by local authority and Arts Council.

Superb theatre.

These performances prove the value…even the necessity of live professional repertory theatre in our town.

It is patently ludicrous that this fine ensemble company is reduced to performing in a tent when there is a splendid theatre 30 feet away.

Spellbinding.

Superb. Better than the National.

Saw RSC production. Enjoyed this one more.

A Magical Evening.

Wonderful. Farnham needs you.

A travesty that Farnham is ignoring its existing theatre....More, more, please.

This theatre must not die.

What a shame we have to sit outside the theatre built for Farnham people...by Farnham people.

The NFRC must continue and one day the Redgrave will live again.

A wonderful season.

Long may the 'Rep' continue.

A treat to see such acting in our town.

Give the Professional Theatre back what it deserves.

We did not expect such a treat in a town like Farnham.

Wonderful season with all the communication of people.
